Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice.   • ERC Pathlight is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide care for individuals with eating disorders at our Eating Recovery Center in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

    About ERC Pathlight:

    ERC Pathlight is a leading mental health care system dedicated to treating eating disorders, primary mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders. Our multi-disciplinary treatment programs involve close collaboration with patients and their families, guiding them towards long-lasting mental wellness.

    Responsibilities:

    As a clinical professional at ERC Pathlight, you'll be part of a team committed to making a real impact in patients' lives. Our integrated care team approach involves working closely with all disciplines to ensure top-notch care. Key responsibilities include:

    • Setting: PHP/Residential
    • Caseload: 18 patients per week for child and adolescent ages, 21 patients per week for adult ages. We welcome applications from both Adult Psychiatrists and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.
    • Required: 2 patient contacts with documentation per week
    • Typical work week: 25 hours in direct patient care, with the remainder for treatment planning, collaboration, and professional development
    • Treating ages: 8-18 for child and adolescent and ages 16 for adult patients
    • Admissions led by the psychiatrist, with pre-screened assessments.
    • Schedule: 1.0 FTE, working onsite Monday-Friday
    • Call Schedule: Week-long home call rotation every 5-8 weeks.

    Qualifications:

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
    • Completion of psychiatric residency and Child and Adolescent fellowship OR Adolescent Medicine Fellowship
    • Board eligible in the appropriate specialty (board certified preferred)
    • Eating disorder experience welcomed but not required.
