Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice. Outpatient Psychiatry - Nampa, IdahoSt. Luke’s Health System in Nampa, ID seeks a BC/BE Psychiatrist to join our newest ambulatory location and our group of collegial team based providers as a flex fte, with a flexible 1-2 day workweek. The ideal candidate will have an interest in medication management for adult patients diagnosed with psychiatric disorders, including but not limited to: depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and dementia. The current practice consists of outpatient care with a light call schedule. Our new team will be comprised of two psychiatrists, two psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners and seven on-site counselors. Additionally, St. Luke’s offers potential recruitment incentives such as: loan forgiveness, training stipend, and relocation coverage.
