Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice. Provide medical and psychiatric expertise in the evaluation and treatment of patients with emphasis on psychopharmacology, differential diagnosis and evaluation of mental disorders.

Must have MD in Medicine, 48 months of Medical Residency in Psychiatry, Active Medical License in the State of TX; and Psychiatrist Board Certification is required
Must successfully complete CPR certification and an Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program.
