Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice.     Description

    Together with Sondhi Solutions, Centurion Health is proud to be the provider of psychiatric services to the Indiana Department of Correction. 

    We are currently seeking a part-time (16 hours/week) Independent Contractor Psychiatrist to join our team at Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility located in Pendleton, Indiana.  Located less than 1 hour away, Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility is located northeast of Indianapolis.

    The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for patients, works under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director, and provides clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary team in providing mental health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.

    Qualifications


    • MD or DO
    • BC/BE in Psychiatry
    • Active, unrestricted IN license
    • Active, DEA
    • Ability to pass background screening 

    Available Shift

    • Day Shift
    • Monday - Friday
    • No nights, holidays or weekends
    • 16 hours per week
