About the Position

Glatfelter Claims Management is seeking a new Sr. Accident & Sickness Claims Representative for our claims unit that handles injury and illness claims for emergency responders. This position will handle claims from first report to conclusion, including some litigated claims, as well as control indemnity and expense amounts.  This is a hybrid position working a minimum of three (3) days per week in the York office.

What We’re Looking For

• Candidates should have a secondary school education with at least five (5) years of experience handling workers compensation claims, accident and health claims, or appropriate transferrable experience in a related field. 
• Must possess excellent customer service skills, knowledge of insurance coverage, and an understanding of fair claims handling practices. 
• Advanced knowledge of legal processes
• This position requires effective communication and negotiation skills, strong organizational skills, ability to compose letters explaining complex issues.
• Ability to prioritize and complete required daily tasks while maintaining a high level of customer service. 
• Advanced ability to read and interpret insurance policies and make appropriate decision grounded on those interpretations.
• Multiple state adjusting licenses are required. Licenses not held at the time of hire must be obtained within an aggressive period of time upon hire.
