Participates in the negotiation of contracts and prepares reports and analysis of contract details and statistics. Being a Provider Network Specialist distributes contract information, status updates, and other information within the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Provider Network Specialist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Contracts and Provider Network Manager, the Contract and Provider Network Specialist is responsible for communication with contract vendors, provider network, and the contracts department for the purposes of requesting information, providing information, or obtaining clarification for the establishment, execution, compliance and termination of contracts. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the department in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
Requirements: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Services, or a related field required. Six years of experience working in contracts administration or provider network experience will be considered in lieu of education requirement on a case-by-case basis. A minimum of one year or progressive experience in healthcare, managed care, human services, or a closely related field (preferably working within provider network management) required. Must be able to accurately and effectively communicate in verbal and written form. Must have ability to maintain records, prepare reports, and generate correspondence related to the work. Must pass a State of Michigan police clearance check.
Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history. Salary/Hours: Starting salary $21.74 - $25.29 per hour, 40 hours per week.
