Job Description: Regional Educator Network Evaluation and Data Specialist
Title: Regional Educator Network Evaluation and Engagement Specialist
Job Purpose Statement:
As a member of the Regional Educator Network’s team, the Evaluation and Engagement Specialist will develop and implement structures, routines, and procedures for centering educator, student, and community voices to evaluate program implementation and impact, and identify opportunities for improvement and growth. Additionally, the Specialist will support and engage stakeholders within the Network by developing relationships and strengthening connections with school districts, educators, students, and community partners.
Responsibilities include coordinating and conducting focus groups and
interviews, coordinating community/stakeholder forums, developing and administering surveys,
preparing and analyzing data, developing reports and presentations, and managing the REN data and measurement system. The Evaluation and Engagement Specialist will also assist regional and district teams in effective use of data to support continuous improvement cycles.
Job Qualifications:
- Commitment to equity and revising systems that have perpetuated disproportionate outcomes for marginalized populations.
- Commitment to mitigating harm caused by data through application of ethical practices and equity awareness to data collection, analysis, and visualization.
- Experience with designing and implementing community engagement processes
- Experience with collecting and analyzing qualitative (e.g., focus groups and interviews) and quantitative (e.g., survey, administrative records) data.
- Experience with using data to identify program strengths and opportunities for improvement and using data to measure progress and program impact.
- Experience with Professional Learning Teams, mentoring and coaching others, and/or facilitating teams.
- Ability to use computer technology for a variety of applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and project planning. Proficiency with Google Drive highly preferred.
- Ability to perform job responsibilities in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment, respond to shifting priorities, take initiative, communicate effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience developing and giving presentations.
- Experience in preK-12 education preferred.
- Bilingual skills and multicultural experience are highly preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability.
- Successfully complete district background check and drug screening.
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
Desired Skills:
- Training and experience in creating and managing data and information systems.
- Knowledge of program evaluation methods and basic statistical concepts.
- Knowledge of and experience with the processes and tools of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and foster meaningful relationships with district/school teams, staff, educators, and community partners to support the collective work of the REN.
- Plan and facilitate engagement with community partners to:
- Share information about the work of the REN
- Gather input to inform the work of the REN
- Support shared leadership, planning, and decision-making
- Design, implement, and manage REN measurement activities to support program development.
- Develop and manage REN measurement plan
- Contribute to designing REN measures of success
- Apply research and evaluation methods to ensure reliability and accuracy of results
- Apply equity awareness and ethical practices to ensure data use does not perpetuate harm to marginalized populations.
- Apply equity awareness to ensure measurement activities are in service of revising systems that have perpetuated disparate impacts on marginalized populations.
- Coordinate and conduct data collection activities including focus groups and interviews, surveys, sourcing secondary data (e.g., administrative data)
- Coordinate and co-facilitate community engagement activities including community/stakeholder forums.
- Develop and maintain data collection timelines to ensure timely availability of information.
- Analyze data and communicate findings in written reports and presentations that are clear, concise, and appropriate to the audience.
- Monitor program or grant implementation and ensure required evaluation data is collected.
- Develop and oversee data governance and data management systems
- Manage data requests and transfers with schools, districts, and state agencies.
- Implement protocols for keeping data secure and adhering to federal, state, and local laws protecting student, family, and educator privacy.
- Implement a system for tracking, storing, and organizing REN data
- Implement a system for tracking access to REN data
- Implement protocols in the event of a data breach
- Serve as primary contact for REN data activitie
- Troubleshoot data issues
- Provide coaching, training, and other capacity-building supports to REN staff and district teams on appropriate and effective use of data in continuous improvement systems
Facilitate or co-facilitate collaborative planning processes with school, leadership, or
advisory teams to:
- Design measures and data collection methods
- Monitor progress in implementation and outcomes
- Use data to identify and leverage current strengths within schools and work within the REN structure to spread learning and build capacity within the region.
- When applicable, appropriate, and necessary, provide 1:1 coaching to district staff to build their capacity to attain the goals of the REN.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities and communities of practice to further develop skill sets.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned to support the success of the agency and Regional Educator Network.
