    Overview:

    The position will support the AMS membership in understanding and navigating the opportunities and challenges within Arkansas healthcare systems; disseminate education, resources, and tools for provider decision-making; facilitate learning opportunities through quarterly web-based trainings and planned events during annual and ad-hoc membership meetings. The position will be responsible to connect AMS members to key resources available with partnering organizations and agencies (e.g., linking AMS membership to executive leadership within Medicaid such as the Medical Director, or facilitating meetings with supporting entities that can assist members in interpreting quarterly cost, quality and use reports and assist in developing step-wise solutions to practice change as indicated). The position will be responsible for member engagement opportunities primarily focusing on care delivery, reimbursement, claims and coding, but may also help outreach on the patient-centered medical home model.

    Examples of duties to be performed include the following assistance to AMS members:

    1. Develop and recommend strategies to navigate and to promote high quality, cost effective health care.

    2. Liaise and streamline communication with Arkansas Medicaid and Private insurance payers working to help members meet requirements and resolve problems

    3. Develop consistent communications with Arkansas’s health-related organizations and other policy audiences

    4. Provide status reports of member progress, challenges, and successes to share with AMS leadership

    5. Prepare presentations, reports and policy briefs related to member engagement

    6. Facilitate communication with state agencies and other stakeholders through written and oral interpretation of policies and procedure design

    7. Disseminate educational resources and tools to physicians and clinic staff

    8. Deliver identified training for physician practices and their staff

    Experience in the following areas is required:

    3. Excellent interpersonal skills

    4. Excellent communication skills with written and oral information, and able to create presentations and writing products for dissemination in collaboration with other team members

    6. Excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills and the ability to interact with individuals from multiple, diverse programs and settings

    7. Excellent organizational skills, and ability to work independently and as a team member are required

    8. Skills with advanced features of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel

    9. Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects, working efficiently to meet all deadlines

    Experience in the following areas is preferred:

    1. Knowledge of factors that influence care delivery and health care payment

    2. Skilled in synthesizing evidence and developing messaging for members and stakeholder audiences

    3. Comfortable working with, analyzing, and reporting data

    4. Knowledge of specialty care and primary care practice environments

    5. Knowledge in planning and implementation of educational activities

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in public health, health care management, health care finance, health care quality improvement or similar discipline plus 3 years of related professional experience in the same or related field. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in public health, health care management, health care finance, health care quality improvement or experience working in clinical setting, engaging with primary care and specialty providers and support staff are preferred. Program management experience at state, local or federal level and policy-relevant experience in the political environment is preferred.

    Additional Requirements:

    Statewide travel may be required; Non-traditional work hours may be required for periods of time to support practicing clinician schedules (initial implementation of a new project, annual meeting attendance and presentation / evening and weekends).
