Participates in the negotiation of contracts and prepares reports and analysis of contract details and statistics. Being a Provider Network Specialist distributes contract information, status updates, and other information within the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Provider Network Specialist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Desired Education: Two years post-secondary schooling
Desired Degree: Associate's degree preferred
Desired Major: Nursing
Desired Job Experience: Working knowledge of HUSKY programs a plus. Minimum of 1 year experience processing member or provider appeals, grievances and/or conducting clinical investigations a plus. Proficient with computers, data entry, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
Other Qualifications: Strong clinical background, Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently. Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with members and providers and escalate matters as appropriate. Ability to simplify medical and benefit language so that it is easy to understand. Strong computer and keyboard skills. Team player and excellent cross functional collaboration skills. Ability to prioritize work and exercise independent and sound judgement in decision-making. Managed care experience preferred. Knowledge of Medicaid preferred. Connecticut LPN license must be current and unrestricted.
Certifications Required: Active Licensed Practical Nurse License
