    Job Description

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Spray equipment operator with a great attitude, strong ethics and morals, and a vast mechanical aptitude with a keen sense of safety. This job is responsible for spraying herbicide to Union Pacific railroad, as well as maintaining truck and equipment needs.

This is a unique job opportunity unlike no other in our company!

All DCS and UPRR personnel assigned to spray equipment meet in lounge car for a job briefing before your shift starts to discuss what is to be accomplished that day, as well as how to accomplish it all safely, before going to workstations.

You will then go to the spray car and set it up to start spraying. You will then open the water and chemical tanks, set up the Raven system, and the computer for the day’s work. All spraying is controlled by the Raven system, which is in the spray car of the train. We generally spray down the track at 25mph and try to make it 150 miles per day.

The spray car is set up to be comfortable, with nice chairs, A/C, heat, a refrigerator, microwave, and a restroom. After your shift, the DCS crew will go back to the lounge car, or to your room. Each person that is assigned to the SE will be given a room that has a bed, small fridge, sink, shower, toilet, A/C, and heat. The lounge car has a full-size refrigerator, cooktop, sink, and even a grill if you wish to cook out.

We will run two shifts at some point, which means another shift will be spraying while you are off duty in the lounge or your room. You will be required to stay on the spray train for two weeks at a time, then spend one week operating a delivery truck that brings the chemicals to the train. While you are on the truck, you will be staying in motels (paid for by the company). You will also receive a per diem while on the train or in the truck.

The spray train and the truck are completely tobacco free.
