    About This Role:

    Responsible for facility operations and maintenance. Provides support to consultants or other technologists with metallographic, fixture design and fabrication, mechanical, civil building sciences, electrical, safety, automotive, and audio/visual services. Possesses exemplary interpersonal skills and can work with a wide variety of personalities.  Capable of managing multiple tasks with multiple staff members. Develop an understanding of organizational hierarchy and dynamics. Assists in application of principles, methods, and techniques by performing the following duties.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support in inspections via basic documentation and hands-on assistance.
    • Assists Senior technologists/consultants in project work.
    • Capable of handling artifacts and maintaining storage.
    • Occasional travel to incident locations to document artifacts and/or scene.  
    • Maintains calibrated equipment and ensures calibration is current.
    • Troubleshoots, orders, and repairs equipment including all relevant laboratory equipment.
    • Maintains laboratory cleanliness and organization.
    • Preparation of lab spaces for testing/exams.
    • Participates in fabricating, installing, and modifying equipment to ensure that critical standards are met.
    Qualifications:

    Education & Experience Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    Computer Skills:

    • Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Office; Internet software skills.

    Other Skills/Abilities or Other Qualifications:

    • Experience conducting failure investigations. 
    • Possesses required knowledge and skills in function according to the job description.  
    • Demonstrates ability to effectively apply knowledge and skills in accomplishing job assignments.  
    • Assesses own strengths and development areas; pursues training and development opportunities; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; shares expertise with others.
