Property Manager jobs in California
Property Manager manages the day-to-day operations for a property or portfolio of properties. Responsible for coordinating routine and emergency maintenance, selecting and managing contractors, and leading property improvement projects. Being a Property Manager develops financial and business plans for profitable property ownership. Oversees budgets, lease administration, and tenant service delivery. Additionally, Property Manager may initiate or assist with the buying and selling properties in the portfolio. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Property Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Property Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. KJAX Property is currently looking for a part-time or full-time property manager to work as a floater at various apartment complexes while the on-site manager is on vacation.
What you will do:
- Correspond with prospective residents, schedule and attend showings of vacant units, and review rental applications.
- Maintain property appearance and ensure any necessary repairs are noted and resolved in a timely manner.
- Establish positive rapport with residents, vendors, and staff
- Communicate with current residents regarding upcoming maintenance, work orders, and collection of any unpaid rent (including basic admin/technical support)
- Collect, record, and deposit rent checks
What you need:
- Positive and professional attitude and respect for others
- Computer competency, including the ability to navigate Google workspace, Microsoft Office, and other programs as necessary
- Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
- Effective time management and the ability to work alone and with a team
- Valid driver's license and ability to commute to secondary property
- Ability to speak a second language is a huge plus
Property Management experience is not necessary, but a background of customer service / sales is preferred.
Pay / Benefits:
- $22-$28 per hour DOE
- 401k plus employer contribution
