POSITION SUMMARY
General Cleaners are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas. While duties may vary, they typically include restroom, kitchen, and office cleaning as well as general cleaning of common areas. Depending on the client, specialized cleaning of laboratories, control rooms, and exterior spaces may also be a part of this job.
REQUIRED FUNCTIONS: List the core routine responsibilities that are necessary to accomplish the purpose of the job.
Mandatory compliance with all safety requirements and procedures including use of personal protective equipment
Preventive maintenance check on all equipment prior to use
Secure the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work
Restroom cleaning and disinfecting of sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, and floors including cleaning of fixtures and replenishment of supplies
Breakroom / kitchenette cleaning including sinks, countertops, tables and appliances and replenishment of supplies
Routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of carpets and hard surface floors
Dusting of furniture and window treatments
High dusting of vents and light fixtures
Light trash removal including emptying of waste baskets and recycling bins
Other duties as assigned by supervision
