Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor jobs in Texas

Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor oversees activities of the property/casualty underwriting department. Provides supervision for a group of underwriters who review, analyze and inspect property/casualty insurance contracts, which includes accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor experienced in risk management and complex applications. Analyzes various rate plans utilizing a company's claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor may assist with analysis of large accounts. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     The Producer will be responsible for building a profitable book of business through customer program offerings. They will assist in developing and acquiring new business revenue from new and existing clients and assigned prospects in identified sectors or market areas. Develops and maintains interdivision/intercompany relationships consistent with our corporate culture. Develops basic functional knowledge of the insurance industry.

    • Provides expert guidance, strategy, and best practices to clients with regards to risk management and insurance.

    Requirements

      

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to identify exposures, obtain underwriting information and provide expert recommendations about appropriate insurance coverages for client.
    • Timely  response to client, underwriter and internal department requests.
    • Analyze  exposures for new and renewal clients to help ensure clients have the insurance they need to meet their goals and comply with legal requirements.
    • Support and assist in the preparation of comprehensive submissions for marketing.
    • Coordinate customer service with Account Managers
    • Ability to maintain professional relationships with customers, clients, and co-workers.
    • Ability to work in and contribute to culture of teamwork and cooperation.
    • Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently.
    • Highly ethical
    • Understands business owners and our client base and focuses efforts accordingly.
    • Drive top line revenue and supports efforts to drive bottom line results for the  agency through focused sales activity and new channel development.

    Education and Experience:

    • Minimum of high school diploma, college degree preferred.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience with insurance agency and / or carrier handling commercial accounts.
