Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor oversees activities of the property/casualty underwriting department. Provides supervision for a group of underwriters who review, analyze and inspect property/casualty insurance contracts, which includes accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor experienced in risk management and complex applications. Analyzes various rate plans utilizing a company's claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor may assist with analysis of large accounts. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     What we are looking for:

    Property and Causality Field Adjuster

    Providence, RI and surrounding area

    Salary range between $50,000 and $65,000.00, plus competitive monthly bonus incentive:Total annual adjuster earnings range from $50,000 to $100,000.00 based on achieved bonus.

    Starting salary commensurate with experience and state licensing, where required.

    On-Scene truck accident investigation experience a plus! Previous Law Enforcement backgrounds encouraged to apply- We will train!

    Adjusters are required to participate in an on-call rotation within the office as directed by management.

    Summary of Authority and Responsibility
    Investigates, estimates, evaluates, negotiates and reports property and casualty claims, involving work both inside and outside the office.

    Supervision
    Managed by the Branch Manager, or in the absence of a Branch Manager, the District Manager.

    Minimum Requirements
    College bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; prior property and casualty claims adjusting experience required; valid ME adjuster's license; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required; demonstrated oral and written communication, problem analysis, planning and organizational skills required.

    Location and Equipment
    Inside and outside environment. Must be able to drive an automobile; operate a digital camera or smartphone for digital photos, calculator and digital recorder.

    Contact with Others
    Inside contact with Branch Manager, other adjusters, and clerical workers. Outside contact with clients, policyholders, claimants, tradespersons and attorneys.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Handle field activities outside the office including gathering evidence, taking statements, preparing diagrams and making photographs.
    • Prepare timely, clear and concise reports to clients in the client’s preferred report format.
    • Communicate as needed with the client to ensure the assignment is being completed accurately and the client’s needs are being met.
    • Analyze and evaluate special damages including auto estimates, property estimates, personal property inventories, medical bills, lost wage statements and medical reports.
    • Prepare estimates, inventories and summaries of special damages as needed.
    • Negotiate and conclude claims.
    • Analyze insurance coverage issues on specific claims and make recommendations to the client.
    • Participate in marketing activities as required.
    • Perform any other job-related tasks as assigned by Branch Manager.
