Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages and oversees the property/casualty insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups, such as accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance etc. Implements guidelines and procedures regarding risk exposure, application renewal, acceptance, modification, and denial. Leads and trains the underwriters to ensure integrity of property and casualty underwriting activities and processes. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Manager experienced in risk management and complex applications. Provides consultative support for large accounts. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. RESPONSIBILITIES:
~ Conducting move in, move out, and occupied unit inspections. Delegating work orders, lease-up, qualifying applicants, completing annual certifications, ordering supplies, and collecting rent among other duties.
~Experience in affordable housing is preferred, but we will consider other management/program experience.
~Applicants must have a professional appearance, be computer literate and have a strong ability to work with the general public, specifically seniors.
~Duties will include oversight of daily operations, pre-qualifying applicants, leasing, overseeing maintenance and grounds employees, conducting occupied inspections, organizing work orders, ordering supplies, annual recertification's, etc.
-This position will require a lot of walking and the ability to climb stairs.
