Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages and oversees the property/casualty insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups, such as accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance etc. Implements guidelines and procedures regarding risk exposure, application renewal, acceptance, modification, and denial. Leads and trains the underwriters to ensure integrity of property and casualty underwriting activities and processes. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Manager experienced in risk management and complex applications. Provides consultative support for large accounts. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Education: Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum two years’ property management experience required.
    • Knowledge of LIHTC, HUD/Section 8 and affordable housing regulations preferred.
    • Strong computer skills.
    • Must have working knowledge of computer or tablet software.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work assignments and attention to detail.
    • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Effectively read and interpret documents and instructions.
    • Ability to effectively interact with community residents.

    Responsibilities and Expectations:

    • Responsible for implementing quality control of all regulations and policies/procedures related to the leasing process.
    • Assists with the budgeting process.
    • Manages daily operations of the residential and/or commercial units assigned.
    • Oversees building maintenance.
    • Ability to travel to alternative communities, if requested.
