Property Casualty Underwriting Director directs and oversees the property/casualty insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups. Ensures the quality and integrity of underwriting activities and processes. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Director develops guidelines and procedures regarding risk exposure, application renewal, acceptance, modification, and denial. Manages staff of property/casualty underwriters at the organization. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Director provides assistance to underwriters on more complex applications. Has extensive knowledge of the underwriting discipline. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to top management. The Property Casualty Underwriting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Our Team is looking for a prudent and professional property manager to be responsible for the direct management and oversight of Class A mixed-use and multi-family portfolio. For the right fit, this position ideally will transition into the leader of our growing high-end Petersburg management arm, with many units currently in the pipeline within walking distance of our current portfolio.

    This person will have the support of a fast-growing and incredibly successful real estate team that is performing at a high level with a strong reputation and great community relationships. We have systems and processes dialed in, and need a leader on site to operate the portfolio and oversee a growing team.

    This is a great position for someone eager to further develop their Real Estate career. The person in this position will excel if they have strong skills working and communicating with many different people, as well as a passion for operating all aspects of investment properties and learning/honing their strategy for ultimate performance. It is critical that this person is confident in their ability to understand Owner strategy and act in the best interest of the Landlord when operating these properties.

    The current portfolio this position will be managing is a Class A multi-family portfolio of 5 properties, a total of ~170 units, mostly located in Historic Petersburg. For a candidate with the right leadership skills, positive attitude, team mentality, and knowledge of property management, this position can easily advance into a leadership role managing our growing team in this market. We have 400 Class A units in the pipeline within walking distance of this portfolio. We are searching for a leader that has the desire and ability to oversee our management arm & team in this market as we expand.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage all aspects of assigned properties, to include leasing, maintenance, and tenant/client communication and relationships with the support and backing of high performing teammates.
    • Perform site visits for walk throughs or quality/compliance inspections
    • Maintain a positive, productive relationship with Tenants and Clients
    • Negotiate lease/contracts with Tenants or subcontractors in a timely and reliable manner
    • Advertise and market vacant spaces to attract Tenants.
    • Perform property showings/tours of vacant units.
    • Collect receivable accounts and manage operating expenses within your portfolio
    • Develop and manage annual budgets by forecasting requirements and analyzing variances, data and trends
    • Oversee properties’ personnel and assess its performance
    • Accomplish financial goals and report periodically on financial performance, vacancy, delinquency and other measurements.
    • Source and build relationships with prospective clients to expand business opportunities
    • Work closely with the Peak Team for further training and development. Be a team player, and always work to improve.

    Skills

    • Proven work experience as property manager is desirable
    • Understanding property management and its financial aspects, strategy
    • In depth knowledge of rules and regulations surrounding property management
    • Competency in MS Office and relevant databases and software
    • Appfolio experience a plus
    • Customer focus and bottom line orientation
    • Interpersonal savvy with strong communication skills
    • Open mindset, open to feedback, open to improvement.
    • Highly organized with excellent time management skills and responsiveness. Able to juggle many different challenges on a daily basis.
    • Receive valid real estate agent license within 120-days of employment.

    Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
