Property Casualty Underwriting Director directs and oversees the property/casualty insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups. Ensures the quality and integrity of underwriting activities and processes. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Director develops guidelines and procedures regarding risk exposure, application renewal, acceptance, modification, and denial. Manages staff of property/casualty underwriters at the organization. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Director provides assistance to underwriters on more complex applications. Has extensive knowledge of the underwriting discipline. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to top management. The Property Casualty Underwriting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Reliant Property Management’s Property Managers are business leaders who focus on resident customer service. They manage operations, leasing activity, financial reporting and communications for their assigned residential property. If you are a leader with Affordable and LIHTC experience, effective time management, strong interpersonal skills, and property management knowledge, you are an ideal candidate. This Property Manager will be overseeing a total of 68 units.

    CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/Non-Exempt

    COMPENSATION: $27-32/hour, plus opportunities for commissions and quarterly bonuses

    SHIFT: M-F 8 am - 5 pm

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage day-to-day operations such as weekly and monthly property status reports, inspect the property on a regular basis and verify condition of vacant units
    • Manage property maintenance with the assistance of the maintenance team
    • Maintain and manage all financial responsibilities (i.e., rent rolls, delinquency reports, move-in/move-outs, variance reports and other weekly reports)
    • Manage and monitor rental collection (ensure proper legal notices are given and deadlines met concerning filing eviction, filing writs, and attending court hearings.
    • Mentor and manage property staff by managing time off for property management team and responsible for submitting payroll for processing
    • Coordinate with maintenance supervisor and attend monthly safety meetings and training for property staff
    • Manage requests for repairs and maintenance and evaluate timely completion of all work orders
    • Monitor electric, water and gas usage on the property
    • Manage, create and monitor all marketing activities for the property
    • Perform other duties as assigned or requested to support property operations ull-time, Hourly/Non-Exempt

    EXPERIENCE

    Required

    • Experience processing LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) paperwork
    • Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience with other affordable housing programs such as HUD, section 8
    • High school Diploma or GED
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to communicate effectively with others--employees, properties, supervisors, etc.
    • Reliable transportation-maintained auto insurance and valid driver’s license.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
    • Required to travel based on business needs.
    • Must be able to pass background and drug screen

    Preferred

    • COS or TCS Preferred
    • Associate’s Degree
    • CAM, ARM, or CCRM certification
    • Bilingual or multilingual skills
