Property Casualty Underwriting Director jobs in Coachella, CA

Property Casualty Underwriting Director directs and oversees the property/casualty insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups. Ensures the quality and integrity of underwriting activities and processes. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Director develops guidelines and procedures regarding risk exposure, application renewal, acceptance, modification, and denial. Manages staff of property/casualty underwriters at the organization. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Director provides assistance to underwriters on more complex applications. Has extensive knowledge of the underwriting discipline. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to top management. The Property Casualty Underwriting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     • Must have the ability to perform a variety of tasks often on short notice.
    • Must have the ability to handle a fast-paced, varied and busy work environment.
    • Must be able to work alone, to be self-motivated, organized and learn quickly.
    • Must be professional but friendly.
    • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and possess positive teamwork attitude.

    The Employee will be expected to:

    • Have adequate strength to perform continuous manual labor during an eight hour shift.
    • Have the ability to work on a continuous basis and be prompt.
    • Present a professional appearance according to the Employee handbook wearing the appropriate shoes and clothes. Maintain a neat and well-maintained attire, hair, and appearance at all times.
    • Always comply with and follow the company safety program and policy. Immediately report unsafe conditions and any injury to your supervisor.
    • Keep all company and client information strictly confidential.
    • Maintain the highest set of standards of cleanliness and safety.
    • Conform to the rules and regulations of property management as set forth by California Residential Landlord/Tenant Statutes and Federal Fair Housing Laws.
    • Treat all temporary help, owners, tenants, vendors, contractors and any other person contacted on the telephone or in person in a friendly, personable and professional manner.

    The Employee’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

    • Lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule.
    • Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor.
    • Observe established policies and procedures.
    • Perform other job duties including but not limited to grounds maintenance or other property management functions as needed and requested by supervisor.
    • Must regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. In addition, must also twist, balance, reach, bend, stretch, grasp, walk rapidly, climb stairs and ladders, and possess manual dexterity with both hands. In some instances the employee will:
    • Be required to be bilingual in English and Spanish
    • Be asked to assist in the maintaining of another property in case of an emergency

    This position will handle 140 units.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
