What You'll Do:

• Thoroughly proofread advertising and marketing material produced by nearly all H/L departments in various mediums, including:
  • Print
  • Broadcast
  • Digital ads
  • Requests for proposal
  • New business and client presentations
  • In-house materials
• Ensure creative consistency (visual and content-wise) within a campaign across all mediums
• Correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors
• Propose corrections for unclear sentences
• Eliminate redundancy as necessary while ensuring a seamless flow of ideas
• Proof legal language and disclaimers within guidelines for certain clients
• Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether content complies with client brand standards and legal guidelines
• Generate and update copy decks, scripts, and legal matrices when necessary
• Collaborate with teams to deliver quality projects on time
• Learn and apply client brand standards and style guides, as well as trademark and legal guidelines

About You:

• You have 4-5 years of experience proofreading a wide variety of fast-turn jobs in a high-volume environment. Advertising, marketing, and/or promotions agency environment preferred.
• You possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• You have demonstrated the ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment
• You are exceptionally meticulous and detail-oriented
• You are highly organized with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while managing multiple projects with accuracy
• Bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism preferred

H/L offers a projected salary range for a position as an estimate of what the company believes is a reasonable pay scale. The California salary range for this position is $70,000–$88,000 per year. The actual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on various factors, including the job’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s qualifications, budget availability within the department, internal pay equity, geographic location, and external market pay rates for similar positions.
