The AP team includes six technical proofreaders with extensive experience performing various services for our engineers, natural resource specialists, and surveyors. Responsibilities
• Type, edit, and proofread various company documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint and other miscellaneous business software. Prepare documents using company standard formats, which may include letters, memos, reports/studies, manuals, contract documents, technical specifications, agreements, transmittals, tables, charts, forms, brochures, schedules, and meeting agendas/minutes. • Coordinate with various internal departments; communicate with co-workers as necessary to ensure documents are as requested and deadlines are met. • Review co-workers' work. • Print, copy, and/or bind documents; fold figures and maps; create PDFs; email files. • Prepare and mail or ship documents and other items. • File and retrieve documents according to an existing company file management system. • Answer telephone, route calls, and greet clients at the front desk. • Update company databases/informational systems. • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Two years of administrative support experience is desired. • Experience with document organization and interdepartmental communications is desired. • High proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat is required, including the use of styles and templates in Word, producing charts in Excel, and compiling and manipulating PDF files. • Experience using SharePoint is desired. • Experience with technical writing, proofreading, and/or editing or a degree in English, journalism, or communications is desired. • Must possess excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and technical editing skills as well as excellent communication skills. • Must be able to work independently and prioritize work. • Must be willing to work under tight deadlines and be able to change priorities as needed. • Must be able to maintain confidentiality. • This position requires the ability to perform light to moderate physical work demands, including bending and reaching; carrying/moving paper, files, and boxes; using stairs and step-stools; and lifting up to 40 pounds. The work demands of this position necessitate long periods of sitting or standing.
