Proof of the Pudding is seeking a Stewarding Manager to oversee all stewarding functions. Responsible for cleaning of china, glassware, silver and serving equipment; facilitating all plate-up and delivery of all food the prospective functions; set-up and breakdown of all Banquet buffets; cleaning of Food & Beverage food prep and servicing areas, to include main kitchen, concessions kitchen and back hallways. This position also includes general janitorial duties throughout the venue. The ideal candidate is punctual, well organized, and has kitchen experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the stewarding team by delegating daily tasks, and adhering to event timelines.
• Assist and monitor deliveries of all food to prospective functions
• Oversee and assist in delivery, set-up, and breakdown of all equipment to prospective functions
• Maintain cleanliness in all kitchens, service areas, hallways, trash bins, and parking lot
• Position is very hands and will interaction often with staff
• Running and maintenance of the main dish machine
• Assisting with the transfer and distribution of food and equipment throughout the venue as needed
• This position will also include some light food prep work per the Executive Chef’s direction

Performs other related duties as needed

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• 3 year of experience working in a kitchen in a supervisor position is required, experience working in large scale catering setting is preferred
• Valid drivers license – ability and willingness to operate golf carts, Kubotas, or company vehicles.
• High school diploma or GED

• Planning and multi-tasking
• Self-motivated with a high energy level
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.

Work Environment 

This position will be stationed out of Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. This position will spend majority of time in the kitchen and dish pit area where there will be hot water, chemicals, and typical kitchen equipment and utensils. This position may also operate golf carts and Kubotas to travel throughout the venue.

Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.

Non-slip shoes are necessary.

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of standing, moving through a kitchen space
• Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
• Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
• Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items
• Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 40 lbs.

Position Salary & Benefits:

• This is considered a full-time hourly position with a starting rate of $35-$40/hour.
• Working hours may be flexible dependent on the events schedule.
