Description:
The transportation planner plays a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing the transition processes related to transportation projects within the Seneca Nation Transportation department. The incumbent will focus on facilitating seamless transitions between project phases, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and coordinating with various agencies to achieve project objectives. Assist with all phases of transportation includes planning, research, and development. Makes recommendations for current and future transportation infrastructure and land uses.
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, City Planning or Regional Planning; Master’s Degree preferred with five (5) years of experience or associate degree in civil engineering or related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience; or Ten (10) years of proven experience in Highway Construction or Transportation Planning and Management. Demonstrated technical ability to write plans and building specifications. Drafting and mechanical drawing a plus. Knowledge of Federal rules and regulations applicable to Transportation, procurement, and funding practices. Must have knowledge of Computer Aide Design. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must have competent technological skills and specifically be able to work with MS Office 365 Suite for editing and productivity. Must have the ability to work in a diverse cultural environment. Knowledge of Seneca customs, traditions, and practices is helpful. Strong organizational skills and the ability to understand and manage high-profile, sensitive, or controversial projects. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently. Native preference. Must have a valid NYS license.
