Project Management Manager manages and directs the work of project managers and provides managerial oversight for multiple projects. Monitors project scopes, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. Being a Project Management Manager develops standards, processes, and tools used for effective project scheduling and to set and manage quality targets. Addresses internal or vendor issues that may impede project delivery and develops solutions. Additionally, Project Management Manager tracks at risk metrics and facilitates actions to keep projects on track. Establishes data collection and reporting processes to capture key metrics of project activities and to provide periodic reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to a director. The Project Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Project Management Associate on the Operational Readiness team will have an exciting opportunity to lead small and medium sized projects as part of the Service Enablement organization.

    The candidate selected for this role will primarily lead initiatives impacting multiple US business lines within the Strategic Initiative portfolio. The Operational Readiness team focus can include transformation initiatives, product launches/enhancements, and regulatory projects. Core responsibilities include:

    • Performing impact assessments
    • Creating strategic and tactical plans and resource coordination
    • Driving execution of key operational activities (SOP’s, Training, Forms, etc.)
    • Management and execution of project communications as well as issue monitoring/resolution
    • Developing, tracking, and implementing controls to lead project and organizational risk
    • Project level reporting

    The Project Management Associate will provide leadership and guidance to Initiative/Product Owners and SMEs on their respective initiatives. Given the scope of the team’s responsibilities, ideal candidates for this role will have a mix of both process/system knowledge and project/initiative support experience. A proven working understanding of the Service operating model is highly beneficial.

    The Associate has the trust and confidence of the leadership team. Is able to operate in an agile manner in an environment with ambiguity and can handle multiple dissimilar responsibilities and pivot quickly as business priorities shift. They also deliver value through understanding business priorities, connecting the dots, and providing solutions and holds themselves and project teams to high standard. They are expected to identify, take ownership, and proactively resolve issues and operate with quickly, while thinking/acting like a business owner. They need to ask the tough questions and establish relationships throughout the US business organization and the Prudential enterprise, continuously setting a higher standard.

    The current EWA for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence in the Shelton, CT, Fort Washington, PA or Newark, NJ offices on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

    What you’ll need:

    • 1 year of experience in a project support and/or project Mgmt. role or an Internship preferred. Bachelor's Degree preferred
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication/presentation skills; ability to communicate results and influence others. Comfortable working with senior levels of business
    • Skilled at resolving conflict and negotiating effectively and thoughtfully
    • Process oriented. Able to work through complex scenarios, deliver streamlined solutions and quickly adapt to change. Has the ability to think strategically and evaluate process effectiveness with the abilitity to lead projects and initatives.
    • Comfortable with risk management; to include auditing, control reporting, and financial management.
    • Comfortable working in a virtual as well as on-site environment

    Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $55,700.00 to $82,800.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
