Project Management Manager manages and directs the work of project managers and provides managerial oversight for multiple projects. Monitors project scopes, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables. Being a Project Management Manager develops standards, processes, and tools used for effective project scheduling and to set and manage quality targets. Addresses internal or vendor issues that may impede project delivery and develops solutions. Additionally, Project Management Manager tracks at risk metrics and facilitates actions to keep projects on track. Establishes data collection and reporting processes to capture key metrics of project activities and to provide periodic reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to a director. The Project Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Project Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Manager, Technical Project Management for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for actively participating in the introduction of new products on the New Product Introduction team in Operations. You will collaborate with Staff Project Management to ensure compatibility with current and future manufacturing processes and capabilities.

    Together, you’ll lead, coordinate, or participate in operations-related activities required for the transfer of new products to routine production such as scale-up, process development/optimization, technology transfer, process validation, test method validation, and cost analysis​.

    You’ll also partner with R&D teams to assess manufacturability throughout the Innovation Development Process of new immunoassay reagent products and conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) review meetings routinely. Other responsibilities include serving as a technical liaison for other departments with regards to new product introduction activities, including, but not limited to bill of materials, reference material, reagent formulation, and standard operating procedures.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Represent Operations as a core team lead, especially on global programs
    • Develop and maintain production documentation
    • Apply technical knowledge to troubleshoot assay design challenges encountered during the course of assay development, clinical validation or manufacturing validation.
    • Maintain substantial and current knowledge of validation and process control requirements
    • Create action plans and effectively delegate tasks to cross functional team members

    The essential requirements of the job include:

    • Bachelor’s degree in field with 9 years of related work experience OR
    • Master’s degree in field with 7 years of related work experience OR
    • Doctoral degree in field with 4 years of related work experience
    • Experience owning metrics and/or leading daily management
    • Experience in creating standard work and improving processes

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

    • Bachelor’s degree Chemistry, Biochemistry or Life Science

    • Experience in immunoassay diagnostics development and with Quality System Regulations

    • Familiarity with supply chain management
