Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Project Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • We are seeking an experienced, hands-on and self-motivated Director of Project Management to join our PMO team at Bridgewater. The Director of Project Management is responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of projects that will drive the execution of Bridgewater’s strategy. This position will manage significant change initiatives, programs, projects, and is involved with all aspects of the business, operationally, and strategically. The PMO Director will oversee implementation of new processes, policies, and procedures to ensure changes are the most efficient and in alignment with all corporate and regulatory requirements.

    The Director of PMO will collaborate and communicate with stakeholders, senior leadership, and all employees to successfully guide high-visibility initiatives to completion, as well as, manage a team that prepares, monitors, controls, and reports throughout the programs/projects. The PMO Director will also use people development and coaching skills to teach and train the methodologies of the project management practice at BWB to appropriately scale the capability. Strong influencing, collaboration, and negotiation skills will be a critical skillset.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Strategic Leadership:
      • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Project Management Office in alignment with BWB’s mission and goals.
    • Project Management:
      • Manage a diverse portfolio of technology and business programs and projects, ensuring prioritization, resource allocation, and successful execution.
      • Establish the standard project management capability for BWB by setting up the Project Management function with critical standards, tools, and capabilities.
      • Maintain a scalable approach to project screening, prioritization, decision-making, and resourcing that enables collaboration and understanding for cross-functional business leaders.
    • Team Leadership:
      • Lead, coach, mentor, and inspire a team of project managers and matrixed team members/leaders, providing guidance and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
    • Stakeholder Engagement:
      • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to ensure project needs are understood, gain support, and successfully implemented.
    • Project Governance:
      • Enforce project governance standards, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.
      • Lead the cross-functional Project Review Board will also be a critical part of the role.
    • Risk Management:
      • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across the project portfolio to ensure project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
    • Performance Monitoring:
      • Implement metrics and KPIs to monitor project performance and ensure continuous improvement.
      • Utilize a standard reporting process that ensures a high level of visibility to stakeholders and executive leadership and clear project accountability to the success measures.
    • Resource Management:
      • Optimize resource allocation and utilization to maximize project efficiency and effectiveness.
      • Ensure cross-functional initiatives include the right stakeholders and have the right visibility to arrive at an innovative solution that supports all areas of the business.
    • Reporting and Communication:
      • Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership and stakeholders on the status and progress of programs and projects, in addition to, communication of changes to the organization.
    • Change Management Expertise:
      • Lead teams through organizational changes that may accompany project implementations.
      • Create a strong project management culture across the organization by effectively teaching and training the project management methodologies within the business functions.
    • Build Relationships:
      • Fosters relationships across the organization of all levels.
      • Develop collaborative relationships with leaders across the business to understand their needs and ensure the project management function has the right business plan today and tomorrow to meet the needs of our growing Bank.
    • Industry Expertise:
      • Stay abreast of innovation in the industry to ensure you are bringing in the best methodologies, practices, and tools to drive BWB’s capability and support.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree
    • 7 years of program and project management leadership experience
    • Excellent consulting, collaboration, coaching, and communication skills
    • Expert‐level knowledge of project, process improvement, and change management, methodologies, techniques, and processes
    • Experience managing and leading diverse teams
    • Demonstrable track record of managing and successfully delivering enterprise-wide programs of increasing complexity and impact
    • Able to plan strategically, execute pragmatically and adapt to a fast-evolving environment
    • Deep understanding of organizational change and how to implement initiatives across a diverse stakeholder group
    • Proven strategic thinking and excellent ability to grasp and understand business issues quickly
    • Ability to influence at all levels, internally and externally with partners
    • Result-oriented self-starter with a proactive management approach
    • Ability to lead other through influence and inspiration – ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others
    • PMP Certification preferred
