Project Engineering Manager plans and directs all design engineers, drafters, and technical engineers working on specific projects. Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs. Being a Project Engineering Manager oversees product construction and testing in order to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible. Evaluates and approves changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project. Additionally, Project Engineering Manager monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Project Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. CEC is currently seeking a Project Manager/Estimator based in Clinton, Iowa.
The estimator/project manager will be responsible for overseeing various building and civil construction projects ranging in size and scope. This position requires the ability to see a project from start to finish including estimating, preconstruction, construction, and project closeout. The estimator/project manager must have the ability to manage crews daily, build and maintain effective customer relationships, develop and oversee project schedules, coordinate materials / subcontractors, and keep costs within budget while running within our safety guidelines and maintaining quality standards.
What makes you successful in this position?
This position is based in Clinton, IA and will require the ability to travel approximately 10% of the time, including to job sites both in and out of town, along with some nights, weekends and overnight stays, depending on work demands.
The pay range for this position is based on experience.
Candidates must possess the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.
