Project Engineering Manager plans and directs all design engineers, drafters, and technical engineers working on specific projects. Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs. Being a Project Engineering Manager oversees product construction and testing in order to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible. Evaluates and approves changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project. Additionally, Project Engineering Manager monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Project Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. If you want to grow your skills and develop your career, find out more at www.imerys.com The PositionProject Manager Job Summary ● Mentor other Engineers in the Team to help elevate the team to the next level ● Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs ● Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration ● Perform engineering calculations to support design work ● Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software ● Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering maintenance and operations teams, and work with vendors and contractors ● Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process ● Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget ● Have familiarity with Project management and tools ● Ensuring each project stays within the allocated budget and timeframe ● Scheduling meetings and updating status regularly ● Help maintaining Capital project approval process from start to finish developing and maintaining the budget EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: ● Bachelor's Degree - Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering ● Project Management Certification ideal, but not required ● 5 years of experience working in engineering projects for heavy process industry, as well as experience with solid handling (conveyors, piping, etc.) ● Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience in designing mechanical and electromechanical systems and products ● Ability to clearly communicate concepts and ideas ● Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills ● Positive attitude and willingness to work long hours to finish targets ● Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems ● Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3D and 2D modeling tools or similar ● Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability ● Knowledge of procurement and engineering equipment and construction contracts, ideal.
