Project Engineering Manager plans and directs all design engineers, drafters, and technical engineers working on specific projects. Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs. Being a Project Engineering Manager oversees product construction and testing in order to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible. Evaluates and approves changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project. Additionally, Project Engineering Manager monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department.   • Kaskaskia Engineering, LLC (KEG) is searching for an experienced Project Manager to join our Transportation/Land Development Group. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in transportation and land development engineering and design. This position can be located in any of KEG’s offices, which include Belleville, Peoria, and Geneva, Illinois; Evansville, Indiana; and St. Paul, Minnesota. While this role would report directly to KEG’s Transportation Team Lead, our remote work and flexibility in scheduling allows for effective collaboration between all our offices. This dynamic process allows for our PMs to enjoy a variety of work and project disciplines.

    Requirements

    • PE (Professional Engineer) License is required, with the ability to secure PE licensure in other states.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in land development design and engineering.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT, EPA, and municipal design policies and code requirements.
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to and from job sites as needed is required.
    • Proven management skills to plan, direct, and monitor projects and coordinate with other internal and/or external team members.

    Responsibilities May Include

    • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate technical work on portions of major projects or in a total project of moderate scope.
    • Prepare project scopes, schedules, and fees for review by Team Lead.
    • Prepare design plans, grading, calculations, specifications, utility coordination, cost estimates, and permitting for residential, institutional, and commercial projects in various jurisdictions.
    • Research of code requirements and design procedures manuals.
    • Evaluate drainage condition associated with land development activity and prepare water quality, detention/retention basin, and storm sewer system design and reports. Familiarity with Hydraflow Hydrographs Extension for Autodesk Civil 3D a plus.
    • Verify design computations, construction plans, and specifications for conformance with local codes, design manuals, and project design requirements.
    • Operate AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, Microstation V8i, and/or various other software applications.
    • Visit project sites to review conditions as required.
    • Coordinate with other engineers, technicians, and administrative staff during preliminary and final plan preparation for conformance to design standards and code requirements.
    • Attend and participate in various client, agency, and stakeholder meetings.
    • Assist Team Leads in preparing current status information for both internal reporting and client updates.
    • Assist business development and operations team with proposals and client development.
    • Perform all work in a safe manner and with equitable treatment towards all.
    • Provide support to a diverse team of professionals in multiple offices throughout the Midwest.
    • Mentor and oversee the work of young engineers.
