Project Engineer - Construction provides technical oversight, review, and engineering analysis of construction projects to ensure compliance with time, budget, quality, and regulatory requirements. Reviews and approves specifications, designs, bids, contracts, drawings, change orders, and progress reports. Being a Project Engineer - Construction monitors project progress. Identifies and assesses engineering project risks, and develops mitigation strategies and solutions. Additionally, Project Engineer - Construction facilitates collaboration among project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. Project Engineer - Commercial Construction

  • Rice Lake Construction Group seeks a project engineer to support the project pursuit and management team of the company's commercial construction division.  With ample opportunity for growth, the position is an integral part of the project team and can expect to perform support duties in all aspects of project pursuit and project management including takeoff, document control, scheduling, site planning, updating logs and other project records as needed, attending meetings, and assisting in writing purchase orders, sub-contracts, RFIs, and bid proposals.


    Education and Background

    Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or another related field preferred.

    Two-Year Technical Degree in Construction Technology or related field accepted.

    >3 years relevant trade experience performing in a leadership role on commercial construction projects also accepted.


    Practical Knowledge

    Construction Means & Methods, Site Layout, Math and Complex Calculations, Critical Thinking as it applies to the breakdown and interpretation of Specifications and Plans, Scheduling, Materials Scheduling, Data Analysis, Organizational Methods, Writing Skills, Verbal Communication Skills.


    Work Experience

    No work experience required for those with post-secondary study resulting in Construction Management/Engineering degree or equivalent. 

    A minimum of 3 years relevant trade experience performing in a leadership capacity required for all others.


    Computer Skills Applied

    Microsoft Office Products, Cloud Based Applications, Bluebeam, Scheduling Software, Estimating Software.

    Pro-active, trustworthy, hardworking, loyal, and flexible industry savvy support person with the ability to adapt quickly to change using knowledge of the industry, an open mind, creativity, common sense, effective communication skills, above average EQ, and the art of winning respect.


    Travel

    Frequent day trips and light overnight travel expected.
