Project Engineer - Construction provides technical oversight, review, and engineering analysis of construction projects to ensure compliance with time, budget, quality, and regulatory requirements. Reviews and approves specifications, designs, bids, contracts, drawings, change orders, and progress reports. Being a Project Engineer - Construction monitors project progress. Identifies and assesses engineering project risks, and develops mitigation strategies and solutions. Additionally, Project Engineer - Construction facilitates collaboration among project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. The Project Engineer Intern will assist the Project team with day-to-day tasks related to managing construction projects and assist with special projects. This position’s work may also be directed by Assistant Superintendents, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers or Assistant Project Managers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Preparing for progress meetings and taking meeting minutes
2. Identifying and resolving potential problems regarding documents
3. Taking project progress photos
4. Tracking material deliveries
5. Expediting and reviewing shop drawings
6. Maintaining shop drawing logs
7. Preparing and distributing addenda and plan revisions
8. Assisting Superintendents with layout, calculations, safety, jobsite cleanliness, etc., as requested
9. Preparing and updating submittal logs, RFI logs, and change order logs
10. Performing timely completion of project close out activities
Education Requirements:
Sophomore, Junior or Senior working towards BS in Construction Management or related field.
