Additionally, Project Controls Manager provides guidance and consultation to project managers. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Project Controls Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     What you’ll do

    We are looking for a Manager, Project Controls to join our Perth team.

    The role responsibilities include:

    • Responsible for ensuring the project controls (or other services) department delivers a cost and schedule effective, high standard of project controls services to all internal and external clients. Specific responsibilities includes:
    • To manage, maintain and train a high-quality project controls team, to promote Worley’s project controls capability to our clients, to implement and manage Worley’s project controls systems.
    • To routinely report on the cost, schedule and resource trends and forecasts on all projects and to provide governance and corporate support for the project controls function within projects and in alignment with Worley PC Functional requirements.
    • Provide visible HSE leadership, participate in the resolution of HSE issues, when required. Communicate and report on HSE issues/incidents (e.g. toolbox meetings).
    • Plan work activities and identify hazards and controls in consultation with employees and conduct and record site inspections and risk assessments (including Hazard ID, risk analysis and control) and assure accountability of employees and sub-contractors under their rem
    • Project schedule and cost baseline frozen in agreed time frame, project change management process established, Project team and systems mobilised in time and Project controls plan in place.
    • Range analysis performed internally or externally at required level and work in alignment with the Daily Supervisors roles and responsibilities.
    • Provide HSE, technical leadership and guidance to all staff within the project team.
    • Determine the necessary discipline training requirements and arrange for appropriate training in conjunction with Functional team and carry out performance assessments for members of the group and make recommendations for salary adjustments and professional development.
    • Liaise and train project managers/directors to clarify project control related issues and provide leadership, direction, supervision, and inspirational management to all team members (direct and indirect).      
    • Client’s projects controls requirement understood from bid documents and proposal prepared accurately.
    • Project controls write up complete within bid period timeframes and presented well for winning bids, client’s projects controls requirement understood and agreed and project setup complete within contract timeframes and to contract requirements.
    • Contact with Clients procurement, cost, scheduling, and document control managers for:
    • Collaboration on requirements/expectations/changes (e.g. Client PowerBI reporting changes) and discuss concerns/issues, opportunities and/or feedback.
    • Ensure project controls team provides consistent, accurate management and reporting of services and capital cost, schedule and resourcing on projects and also ensure project controls team provides timely trend information and variance reports to project managers and helps to develop recovery plans on cost and schedule within agreed time frames along with that ensure project controls teams supports project teams on managing claims for variations and extensions and assists in resolutions of contract disputes.
    • Identify and implement best practices for project controls and implement the required Worley suite of project controls tools.
    • Manage the rollout of corporate initiatives with respect to project controls.
    • Ensure feedback of cost and schedule actuals to estimating and business development for improvement of corporate estimating data and ensure relevant lesson learnt output is communicated and reviewed, 
    • Managing the document control function across the portfolio and Interface with the Portfolio Administration Manager for non-document control InEight activities across the portfolio and assist audits in the broader Worley business as required.
    • Meet overhead and S&O budgets as directed by the Manager of Project Controls and provide input to project budgets for bids in consultation with the Manager of Project Controls and coordinating annual rate increase requests and approval from Client following the remuneration reviews
    • Overall responsibility for accurate reporting of Program/Project status to Corporate, in conjunction with Program/Project Manager and ensure project status (budgets, revenues, costs and forecasts) are current and updated in line with corporate reporting timing and periods and responsible for corporate reporting of change management or any significant trends that need to be advised to Corporate Management.

    What you’ll have

    • MBA or equivalent and Tertiary Engineering qualifications.
    • Experienced in Microsoft Excel & Project, cost software, Primavera, cost control, planning or estimating of multi-disciplined projects and Ideally EPC, EPCM experience across a broad range of projects.
    • Relevant experience in project controls.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English (and other languages, as applicable)
    • Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within the business and externally, ability to communicate openly, honestly, and effectively with peers, team and client, ability to effectively prioritise and juggle responsibilities and conflicting priorities.
