Project Controls Manager develops and implements standardized project controls to manage budgets, scheduling, and quality for engineering, construction, and other types of projects. Establishes controls and operating policies that identify, monitor, and mitigate risk factors that could impact the success of a project. Being a Project Controls Manager creates standard methods for project estimating, procurement, accounting, work breakdown structure, contract management, reporting, and other project-related processes. Ensures controls address cost or budget considerations, scope changes, supplier performance, and other risk levels. Additionally, Project Controls Manager provides guidance and consultation to project managers. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Project Controls Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Project Controls Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     ROLE OVERVIEW:

    The Field Project Manager is a performance-focused role overseeing low-voltage/structured cabling projects, taking charge of project requests, budgetary project execution, and project planning. This role will be specifically focused as a Project Manager dedicated to large automotive manufacturing client and involves crafting project proposals, making strategic decisions, and effectively managing project teams in the field. In addition, the Project Manager is dedicated to closely monitoring and optimizing technician performance to ensure services consistently exceeds customer expectations.



    RESPONSIBILITIES


    Key Skills & Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement project plans, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
    • Read and understand the limits to the required scope of work
    • Adhere to all Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
    • Regularly update the Sr. Project Manager as to progress and obstacles of performance of assigned projects including materials and manpower
    • Continually leads, trains, develops and measures the performance of Technicians and Installers to maximize efficiency and profitability of all ongoing work. 
    • Perform a needs assessment of customer requirements prior to project implementation
    • Ability to lead, coach, mentor and hold the project team accountable to the committed project expectations
    • Verifies jobsite material deliveries and maintains accurate on-site inventories while accounting for all materials delivered to all job sites at all times.

    Job Meetings & Communications

    Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies

    • Track and report project status, including milestones, timelines, and budgetary information
    • Acts as central point of contact for all project activities being the hub for communications
    • Alerts Senior PM/Management on actions that can impact project schedule, costs, or quality of service pro-activley
    • Provides necessary information to Directors/Managers and Project Owners/Sponsors to make project relevant decisions (Scope, Technical Solutions, Budget, Schedule). 
    • Ensure integration and communication across project team and vendors 
    • Project Plans - Ensures that Project Schedules, are developed, approved, and maintained. This entails defining requirements and planning deliverables and tasks required to meet those requirements. 

    Manpower & Scheduling

    Lead project teams and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle

    • Analyze how we are doing against estimate, use to predict manpower needs for job
    • Use appropriate tools for scheduling manpower to meet needs of current jobs with scalable scheduling to achieve a 7, 30, 60 & 90 day view of resource requirements
    • Evaluate manpower needs using the cost to complete, job cost tracking report, and the project schedule
    • Track labor by phases and accurately report labor on the Cost to Complete job report
    • Manages the day-to-day tasks/activities for all resources assigned to project. This includes ensuring that tasks are completed on time and roadblocks and/or obstacles are identified and communicated to appropriate management resources. 
    • Manage vendors to meet the deadlines and develop quality deliverables
    • Conducts appropriate field training and enforces safety requirements. Ensures an appropriate degree of job site training occurs
    • Evaluate the work of teams engaged in design, construction, and maintenance of a major telecommunications network

    Change Order Management

    • Project Request - Ensures that project requests are properly documented and obtain management approvals 
    • Project Budget - Ensures that project budget is developed and revised as needed to match the Scope of       Work
    • Provide invoicing statements and all associated documents to Operations Director for approval

    Project Documentation

    • Responsible for full scope of each contract from proposal to closeout
    • Project Plan Updates - Ensures that project documentation is updated as needed, including scope, schedule and budget
    • Accurately and timely provide closeout and warranty information for projects to comply with all project & timeline requirements
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Requirements

     Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Certifications:

    • Organization capabilities including planning, organizing and managing small and large projects
    • Industry certifications required or must be able to obtain within 6 months: BICSI RTPM or PMP or RCDD. 
    • Exhibit strong leadership traits, with the ability to foster the continuous development of subordinates across all experience      levels within the project team
    • Oral and written communications to exchange information, explain procedures, techniques, and answer questions in a clear logical manner to external and internal project stakeholders
    • Interpersonal Communication Skills with a focus on client relationships and the ability to capture new opportunities
    • Familiarity/ Competence with MS Office and project management specific software with an emphasis on MS Teams and SharePoint to communicate with team members
    • Operational analysis and decision-making techniques 
    • Management/ Customer Service Skills
    • Additional Manufacturer certifications/training
