    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Director of Energy and Area Resource Centers provides leadership for the Fuel and Electric Assistance programs as well as oversight to the agencies Area Resource Centers. This position establishes and maintains effective outreach and intake systems and workflows, supervises staff, develops programmatic budgets, procures local funding, and represents the agency in the local community when necessary. Job must be conducted at all times in a way that respects the rights, privacy, and dignity of clients, maintains confidentiality, and adheres to all contractual regulations.


    PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITES: 

    • Provides positive and effective leadership and oversight to Fuel and Electric Assistance Programs 
    • Provides leadership to the Area Resource Centers, including supervising and coordinating staff, operations, and all related outreach and intake systems. 
    • Develops internal operations and procedures and centralizes client intake in accordance with State, Federal, and agency requirements.
    • Coordinates the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of all Fuel and Electric Assistance and Area Resource Center staff.
    • Oversees and coordinates with area center staff to ensure there are accurate and up-to-date records for area center operations, programs, activities, and client listings for Agency programs.
    • Works closely with local communities and Program Directors to determine the needs of the elderly and low-income population in the area and recommends services or projects to meet the needs.
    • Coordinates the USDA Emergency Food Program for Belknap and Merrimack Counties, including organizing distributions and preparing quarterly reports for 60 organizations in the counties.
    • Manages food pantries run through Centers, including recruiting volunteers and donations.
    • Develops and oversees budgets related to the Fuel and Electric Assistance Programs and Area Resource Centers.
    • Presents funding requests to local cities and towns to use local support as funding for the centers.
    • Compiles and maintains records of program statistics and financial reports. 
    • Maintains effective and positive public relations with local governmental officials, social service organizations, church organizations, internal and social organizations, and the general public.

    • Present a professional and positive image as a representative of CAPBM.  
    • Follow established policies and procedures and comply with all safety requirements.
    • Communicate proactively with the supervisor regarding workflow, problems, suggestions, etc.
    • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment; and attend team and staff meetings as scheduled.
    • Be punctual for scheduled work, use time appropriately, and complete work in a timely fashion with minimal errors.

    Requirements

      

    Experience:

    • · Five years of experience in program development, implementation, and operations
    • · Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise employees and volunteers.
    • · Excellent organizational, communication, and management skills.
    • · Knowledge of local human service agencies and programs.
    • · Strong desire to assist others in helping themselves.
    • · Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, and ability to learn applicable software.
    • · Ability to make well-reasoned decisions, both independently and as part of a team.
    • · Ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet job performance measures with minimal direct supervision and guidance.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in social service-related field. Education requirement may be substituted with six years of additional experience working with a vulnerable population; to be determined by CEO. 


    License/Certification:

    • Successful completion of criminal record check.
    • Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation for required travel.
