East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a full time certified Medical Assistant for our Health Center at 6 John Chafee Blvd in Newport, RI. We are seeking a highly professional and motivated individual who enjoys working with clients in a community health setting. Join our expanding dynamic multidisciplinary team and provide comprehensive patient care using a care team model.
The Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to providers in the day-to-day operation of the medical and/or behavioral health programs. She/He will interact with patients, their families, and members of the multidisciplinary team, assist providers and other clinical staff with assigned duties, perform initial assessments, obtain vitals, review patients medical, social, and psychological histories, and update electronic medical record.
The Medical Assistant is required to have a High School Diploma/equivalent and have completed a medical assistant training from an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Certification in Basic Life Support is required. The successful candidate will have experience in electronic medical record (EMR), however, would receive training in EBCAPs EMR which is Next Gen.
