Professor - Sociology jobs in New Jersey
Professor - Sociology teaches courses in the discipline area of sociology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Felician University is offering exciting opportunities for Adjunct Professors in Sociology for the 2022-2023 academic year. Under the mentorship of full-time faculty, adjunct instructors will provide classroom experiences grounded in “best practices” for higher education and their respective disciplines.
Position Type:
Adjunct Part-time, 1-2 courses per semester during the 2022-2023 academic year, maximum 3 days per week. Day and evening classes available.
Department:
School of Arts and Sciences , SBS/Sociology department
Required Education:
ABD, MA degree at a minimum, doctoral degree preferred.
Qualifications:
Experience and certification in online teaching, expertise and experience in teaching a broad spectrum of Sociology courses: Stratification, Marriage and Family, Intro.to Sociology, Sociological Theory, Sociology of Sex and Gender, and Urban Sociology. Must have taught at a 4 year Baccalaureate degree institution for at least 3 years.
