Professor - Rehabilitation teaches courses in the discipline area of rehabilitation and therapy. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Rehabilitation provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Rehabilitation typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     • QUALIFICATIONS:
      • EDUCATION:
        • Minimum: 
          • Master of Science in Nursing Education or Bachelor degree and actively pursuing Master of Science in Nursing Education with completion within 4 years in the position
        • Preferred
          • Master of Science with a major in Nursing/Education or doctorate in education or nursing

      • LICENSE:
        • Minimum
          • Current unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse licensure

      • PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:
        • Minimum:  
          • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
        • Preferred:
          • Certified Nurse Educator

      • WORK EXPERIENCE:
        • Minimum
          • 3 years clinical nursing experience
        • Preferred:
          • Prior teaching experience in nursing education med surg., critical care, and/or psch, maternity

      • SKILLS:
        • Minimum:  
          • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity health system. 
          • Ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. 
          • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion. 
          • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.
          • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
          • Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets. 
        • Preferred:
          • Previous experience with college of nursing accreditation (ACEN, CCNE).
