The purpose of this position is to perform teaching duties and professional service for the College. This is accomplished by providing instruction as assigned; conducting and assessing instruction; assisting in conducting program review; developing and/or modifying curriculum; assisting students through academic advising; establishing, posting, and maintaining office hours; providing leadership for the development, growth, and support of the College and the assigned area; and undertaking professional community service.

Other duties include supporting the mission, vision and values of the College and policies of the Board of Trustees; serving on various College committees, task forces and other groups; and participating in various official College ceremonies and meetings.

This is a 10-months-per-year, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position which will begin in August 2024. A comprehensive benefits package is included offering medical, dental and vision coverage; generous paid time off; tuition assistance; and retirement savings.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

A master's degree in Psychology is required. Additionally, the qualified candidate must possess 18 graduate credits in Sociology, or, as a condition of continued employment, be willing to earn 18 graduate credits in Sociology (graduate credits in Sociology earned prior to employment and after employment must total 18) within two years from beginning employment, using the college's tuition reimbursement program.

One (1) year of full-time college level teaching or adjunct teaching equivalent of four (4) semesters.

Full-time faculty teach 15 contact hours weekly in Fall and Spring semesters. Course schedule as assigned.
