Professor - Psychology teaches courses in the discipline area of psychology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Psychology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Psychology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Duties and Responsibilities

    • Specific courses will depend on areas of expertise and/or experience but may include: Assessment, Evidence-Based Interventions, Introduction to Human Neuropsychology, Psychopharmacology, and/or other courses as assigned. 
    • Scholarly activity in the area of clinical psychology is desirable and service to the department, college, and university are required. 
    • The candidate filling the position will be part of the M.S. Clinical Psychology program. 
    • Candidates must also be supportive of master’s level practitioners in underserved areas. 
    • Graduate teaching, advising, and supervision. 

    Education and Experience

    Required Education and Experience – Time of Hire:

    • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology, applicants who are ABD will be considered.
    • Candidates must be licensed or license-eligible in the State of Kansas. 

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • College teaching experience 
    • Demonstrated commitment to clinical psychology through clinical practice and/or research
