    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    1. Primary teaching duties are in the MA Program in Counseling Psychology (Specialization: Clinical Mental Health Counseling), Department of Psychology. Teach courses in Substance Use Disorders and one or more of the following courses: Applied Multivariate Statistics, Research Methods and Program Evaluation, Psychological Assessment, Professional Identity and Ethics, Lifespan Human Development, Career Development, Assessment, & Counseling, Psychopathology over the Lifespan (DSM-5), Counseling Theories, Group Work and Counseling, Social & Cultural Foundations, Counseling Skills, and Practicum/Internship Supervision, as well as courses within the candidate’s area of specialization.
    2. Contribute to undergraduate curriculum such as Survey of Psychology, Statistics, or Research Methods.
    3. Provide academic advising.
    4. Conduct program of scholarly research.
    5. Supervise graduate student research.
    6. Participate in program, department, university and professional/community service.  

    Minimum Qualifications: 

    1. A doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an accredited university by the time of employment.
    2. Licensed or license eligible in the State of Hawaii as a Mental Health Counselor or Psychologist by the time of employment.
    3. Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or be CSAC-eligible in the State of Hawaii by the time of employment.
    4. Demonstrated experience in graduate teaching and/or training.
    5. Documented ability to teach courses in Substance Use Disorders and one or more of the courses listed under Duties.
    6. Evidence of research productivity and clear potential for developing a strong program of research in the area of the applicant’s expertise. 

    Desirable Qualifications: 

    1. Ability to teach courses in assessment, psychopathology, and treatment of Substance Use Disorders.
    2. Experience in developing training programs in substance abuse counseling and in interacting with community providers in this area.
    3. Documented excellence in teaching courses listed under Duties.
    4. Experience in mentoring graduate students.
    5. Strong research record as evidenced by empirical publications in recognized scholarly journals or research grants in the area of the applicant’s expertise.
    6. Experience working with a diverse student body.
