Being a Professor - Philosophy provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Philosophy typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Adjunct faculty members provide quality learning experience for students and support the educational philosophy, mission, and long-term goals of the University of Central Oklahoma, the College of Liberal Arts, and the hiring department. Adjunct faculty members teach classes, advise and mentor students, evaluate student performance, and maintain student records in accordance with university policies. Adjunct faculty members work in a collaborative manner with full- and part-time colleagues and adhere to all of the policies and procedures outlined in the UCO Faculty and Employee Handbooks.

Qualifications/Experience Required:
Possesses at least a master's degree in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Qualifications/Experience Preferred:
Experience in teaching college-level philosophy preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of subject matter, working with core curriculum, teaching lower-level undergraduate classes.
