Professor - Nursing teaches courses in the discipline area of nursing. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Nursing provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Nursing typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. The ideal candidate has the primary responsibility of instruction in the classroom, clinical, and lab setting while planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating Nursing curriculum.

Master's degree in Nursing required.
Hold a valid, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.
Evidence of current practice with a minimum of two years full-time equivalent as an RN in a clinical setting preceding employment as a teacher.
Philosophy compatible with that of a comprehensive urban community college.
Prefer teaching experience at the community college or university level.
