Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Family Law Attorney

  • Our law firm is seeking a Family Attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including Divorce, Legitimation, child custody, and child support issues. You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients.

    You’ll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date.     Compensation:

    $72,000 - $95,000 yearly

    Responsibilities:
    • Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases
    • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
    • Keep client files properly organized and up to date
    • Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
    • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
    Qualifications:
    • Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background
    • Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
    • At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary
    • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case
    • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
