Professor - Foreign Languages teaches courses in the discipline area of foreign languages. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Foreign Languages provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Foreign Languages typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Qualifications

    Master’s degree in any field with atleast 18 graduate credit hours in target language required, i.e. spanish, french, etc. 

     

    * Education must be received from a regionally accredited institution.

     

    Two years of teaching experience preferred.

     

    Commitment to the college objective of providing instruction for a diverse student population. Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and writing skills. Knowledge of learning and assessment theories and methods and the relationship to the pedagogy of teaching. Possess a high level of technical skills and subject matter knowledge as it relates to a specific discipline. Evidence of initiative, resourcefulness and adaptability.
