Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. This teaching position works with and supports students who have academic needs, behavioral challenges, life skills needs, etc. A typical day could include: supporting students in small groups with LIPs programming; supporting students individually as they de-escalate and process through their emotions; supporting students as they increase their independence with personal hygiene; etc. In addition to supporting the education of students grades K-3, this position is an integral part of the Vivian E Hussey Elementary School Special Education Team.
