Being a Professor - Economics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Economics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Analyzes large data sets from various sources to evaluate trends and create models.We are looking for a candidate with:Education: Bachelor’s Degree Math, Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field; or equivalent work experience (Two years’ relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)What a day would look like:
- Examine and identify data patterns and trends to help answer business questions and improve decision making.
- Perform analytic research, experience studies, and statistical analyses and calculations.
- Research and apply knowledge of existing and emerging statistical and data science principles, theories, and techniques.
- Presenting and explaining analysis to varied internal and external customers, including senior leadership and physician groups.
- Make proficient use of spreadsheets (Excel), programming languages (SQL, R, Python, etc.), and other relevant software to capture and manipulate data and complete modeling tasks.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
