Professor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama and theater arts. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Drama typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. As a member of our great team you will:
· Work 6-20 hours per week in the afternoons and early evenings. Teachers may choose to have additional hours like mornings for preschools, or weekends for community classes. We compensate you for travel and curriculum prep time at $30/hour, and also pay for your 20 hours of training at $15/hour.
Here are some of the work you will be expected to do:
· Teach and mentor students from 4 to 18 years of age. Primarily ages 6-10.
· Follow provided world renowned lesson plans on speech, movement & acting. You will not be expected to provide your own curriculum.
· Direct short plays (priority for musical theater directors)
· Build relationships with parents and students
· Deliver presentations and MC performances
· Foster relationships with local schools
· Attend online and in-person training, weekly Zoom check-ins, and monthly staff meetings
· Opportunity to do additional administrative and marketing work/projects at the pay rate of $20/hour.
· Have HIGH ENERGY. Able to sit on the floor and jump around with the kids. Physical requirements may include moving chairs, sets, props, backdrops and carrying items to and from the car.
