Internal Title Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication (speaking, writing & argumentation) Position Type Visiting School/Area School of Humanities and Social Sciences Department Communication Position Description The Department of Communication at the College of Charleston invites applications for a full-time, three-year, visiting assistant professor position to begin August 2024. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in communication or a related field by August 2024 and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching.
We are interested in candidates who specialize in speaking, writing, and argumentation. Possible teaching responsibilities include an introductory course in public speaking, an early-major speaking and writing course focusing on civic discourse, and a mid-major course in applied writing.
Applications are due by May 15, 2024. All applicants must submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and the contact information for three colleagues capable of providing a recommendation to our application system. In their application letter, applicants should highlight their teaching philosophy and provide evidence of their instructional effectiveness. Finalists may be asked to submit additional materials.
