    Summary

    As a key member of the Partnerships & Philanthropy team, you will develop and execute communications products that support the Corporate Partnerships strategy and accounts.

    You will be responsible for overseeing and creating donor communications (i.e. concept notes, proposals, reports, fact sheets, newsletters, gift acknowledgment emails / letters, as well as overseeing the development of visual / digital assets) for use by fundraisers to steward major donor relationships and solicit gifts from >

    $10K to up to 8 figures. You will work collaboratively with fundraisers, technical program staff and country office colleagues to strategize and develop donor-facing materials.

    You are also responsible for leading on new business opportunities with fundraisers and program staff, and providing generic and specialized donor communications materials during fundraising efforts for emergencies.

    What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

    Development of Communications Products 60%

    • Lead on the creation and editing of content sourced from program and country office staff to create final products (reports, proposals, concept paper).
    • Ensure these products are grammatically correct; flow logically and present information clearly and concisely; are suited to donors’ level of technical program knowledge;

    and are properly branded.

    • Interact regularly with fundraisers and program staff to understand projects and donor needs and request additional information and clarification as needed to complete projects successfully.
    • Support the execution of thought leadership opportunities with key donors and develop timely and compelling pieces (blogposts, op-eds, etc.

    to position Save the Children as leaders in children’s rights and protection.

    Bring forward innovative ideas to communicate the impact of our donors in the work that we do. This includes managing the creation of multimedia assets (with third party vendors and internal teams) such as infographics, videos, blogs, microsites, etc.

    Program Management and Corporate Partnerships Liaison 20%

    • Manage day-to-day operational duties to help ensure the functionality of the RD Impact Communications team, such as resolve issues with project tracker and document library, coordinate, assign work to staff, and share scheduling for weekend on-call emergency writer coverage, scheduling and run weekly team meetings, and participate in onboarding presentations for new fundraisers.
    • Attend key Corporate Partnership team meetings to understand needs and priorities of the team, propose strategies and projects to proactively respond to communications opportunities and serve as a primary point of contact for the Corporate Partnerships team with the Impact Communications team.

    Donor Acknowledgements 10%

    • Liaise with gift processing staff, fundraisers, and the office of the president to ensure a seamless and timely process by which contributions over an agreed-upon threshold are acknowledged by the president.
    • Together with your direct reports, follow-up with fundraisers and write warm, personal acknowledgements in the president’s voice and style.

    Staff Management 10%

    • Supervise a small team, manage their overall work flow and provides mentoring and leadership.
    • Solve issues independently and with supervisor’s input
    • Ensure that staff are recognized for their contributions and hard work; works with staff to identify professional development opportunities;

    and that staff have flexible schedules as needed to achieve work-life balance while also ensuring that all assigned work is done on time.

    • Confident decision-making and exercising sound judgement
    • Overall awareness of agency’s policies, strategies / programs, fundraising and program priorities and how these impact and influence the writing unit.

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite
    • Proficiency in spoken and written English
    • Strong professional writing skills with proven ability to write compelling content that engages high value donors. Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate program-oriented technical information to high-net-worth donors with varying degrees of technical sophistication
    • Adept at sourcing and displaying multi-media assets within our internal repository (Content Hub) including photos, videos and graphics.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals, fundraisers, and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
    • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
    • Demonstrated success in conceptualizing, developing, managing and executing communications strategies
    • Project management skills with proven ability to work as part of a multi-faceted international team
    • Attention to detail and the ability to translate complex program language into donor-friendly content
    • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, manage time wisely, work independently and as part of a team, communicate with impact, perform under tight deadlines and be adaptive to change

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Understanding of non-profit fundraising and global development issues
    • Proficiency in InDesign or other creative platforms
    • Experience working with high value donors
    • Understanding of digital communications and channels

    Compensation

    Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location :

    • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average : Target Salary for this position is $84,150 $94,050 base salary
    • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average : Target Salary for this position is $76,500 $85,500 base salary
    • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average : Target Salary for this position is $68,850 $76,950 base salary

    The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record.

    Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available ).

    Employee may be eligible for an incentive program. Save the Children also offers paid vacation, accrued at least 12 days a year, depending on paygrade and length of service, paid safety and wellness leave of at least 1 day per month worked for a full time employee which is pro rata reduced for employees working less than a full time schedule, and at least 10 paid holidays a year.

    Employees may be eligible for additional bonus compensation.
